Snapshot #342: Daddy Loves Me

August 31, 2011.  San Jose, California.  Last night Hazel was so cute in her little jumper all ready for bed.  When she wants her binky and she knows that it is close by, she shakes her head quickly back and forth until she latches on.  It's cute.  Oh yeah, if you look closely at this photo you can start to see a ring of light blue forming around the iris of her eye.  It's slowly expanding.  She will have beautiful blue eyes soon.

August 27, 2011.  San Jose, California.  Here's to hoping this is the last time we will be moving in a LONG time!  Boxes everywhere...house in disarray...it always gets worse before it gets better.  Oh yeah, and our darling baby is three weeks...the doctors say this is when the crying really begins.

August 23, 2011.  San Jose, California.  A momentous change of pace for the Woods today.  Dave started his new job with Cisco and I am embarking upon a life of domesticity.  We couldn't be happier with the dramatic turns our lives have taken to get us here.

August 20, 2011.  San Jose, California.  We have 7 days before our Pod arrives in California with all our furniture and belongings.  Until then we are sleeping on the floor and enjoying a little babymoon.  The photo above is our nightly line up.  Hazel is drinking 2 ounces of formula every 2 hours.

Snapshot #331: The Way to San Jose

August 19, 2011.  San Jose, California.  I am happy to report that we have arrived safely at our new home in the San Jose area.  We got some good photos when we stopped at the salt flats just outside of Wendover, Nevada.  It took 16 hours driving time (including stops) over the course of two days.  I couldn't be happier to be here.  Dave snapped this photo of our adorable Hazel.  Thankfully, she mostly slept between feedings.  Toward the end however, she was ready to be out of her car seat.

August 18, 2011.  South Jordan, Utah.  We're on the road today, driving to our new home in California.  Thank you Grandpa and Nonnie for taking a night shift with the baby so that we would be well rested for the drive.

August 16, 2011.  American Fork, UT.  After moving out of our apartment today we chilled in a park for a few hours before a dinner appointment.  When the light hits Hazel just right, there's more than a little strawberry in that blonde of hers.

August 15, 2011.  Orem, Utah.  Most of today will be spent scrubbing the apartment clean for move-out inspection.  Hooray for the Moby Wrap.  (No worries...I clean using baking soda and apple cider vinegar...our baby shall not be harmed)

Snapshot #321: Long Journey, Part of Gift

August 10, 2011.  Orem, Utah.  My mom and my sister drove back to Idaho today after spending the last four days assisting me in the adjustment to motherhood.  Mom spent a handful of hours behind a sewing machine binding my quilts for me as well us making a custom mattress and custom sheets for Hazel's new cradle.  Thanks Mom.  We miss you already.
