December 25, 2014. Camas, Washington. Somehow I talked my family into coming to Camas and spending Christmas with us in our new house. Their presence was a true gift! I fear I would have been utterly lost in a new town in a new house without family or friends to make it feel like home.
December 11, 2014. Menlo Park, California. Not Dave's work, but my own. I started a new project last month for a colleague from the Bay Area. This week Hazel and I flew back to The Bay to do some field measurements of the new corporate office and shop for furniture. Looks like we brought the rain with us.
December 6, 2014. Vancouver, Washington. First time to cut our own tree. First time for Hazel to meet Santa. It was a perfect day (yes, despite the rain).
December 1, 2014. Vancouver, Washington. I give YouTube all the credit for the smile and this little girl's face. We watched several YouTube videos of the first time at a Dentist's and got her all prepped and ready. The preparation REALLY paid off...she was extraordinarily cooperative and she loved it!
November 30, 2014. Somewhere, Oregon. We decided it was worth the drive to Idaho to see Family for Thanksgiving this year. Now that we're in the Portland area "Home" just feels so much closer.
October 31, 2014. Camas, Washington. I'm feeling pretty worthless these days, but not so much that I couldn't get Hazel in costume for Dave's work party.
October 23, 2014. Camas, Washington. Guess what? Our new town has a lake; a big one-Lacamas Lake and a small one, Round Lake. We got half way around Round Lake before the rain started to pour and drench us to the bone.
October 17, 2014. Camas, Washington. We signed documents yesterday and closed on our very first home today. (Too bad we can't move in for another month because the seller's new home is still under construction)
September 24, 2014. Washougal, Washington. We're living in an apartment, we have no furniture, I have morning sickness all day long, and it's raining. I just had to get out today for some fresh air.
September 5, 2014. Sunnyvale, California. Words can't express how much you will be missed. We love you and will forever cherish your friendship. Thank you for your most gracious send-off. Our lives are better for having spent three years with you.
