August 4, 2012. Riverton, Utah. We have so many great photos from our visit to Utah over Hazel's Birthday. We were blessed to be able to spend a day with Aunt Britton (Hazel's Angel Mother) and her family. We love you all SO very much! Here are some of the most memorable moments captured on camera.
July 31, 2012. San Jose, California. One of Hazel's favorite things to do is initiate a game of Peek-a-Boo. I'll be standing across the room and she will suddenly duck behind something then pop back up and smile. SO cute. She does the same thing in the pews at church with anyone who will make eye contact with her.
July 28, 2012. San Jose, California. This is a really boring post...but this is what I've been working on for what feels like endless days (since March). A 'Staycations' Booklet for members of my local Relief Society. I never should have taken on a project of this magnitude...I'll be so relieved when it's done. Every day for the last two weeks I have said, "This is the day."
July 26, 2012. San Jose, California. Hazel and I went to the Design Center today to look for some textiles for Grandma Lela whom we'll be seeing soon. On the way back we stopped for some Jamba Juice; Hazel's first. She paused drinking only for a minute to smile back and someone who was smiling at her.
July 24, 2012. Today I commemorate the day my pioneer ancestors migrated to the Salt Lake Valley from across the globe. "I will never get over being thankful to them; I hope you never get over being thankful to them. I hope that we will always remember them...Let us read again and again, and read to our children or our children's children the account of those who suffered so much." -Gordon B. Hinckley, Jan 31, 1999.
July 19, 2012. San Jose, California. For some time now I have felt a deep yearning for another baby to join our little family...and can't help but wonder if he's/she's already out there somewhere. I've been told that over sixty percent of adoptions originate through the friend of a friend. If anyone out there knows someone looking for an adoptive family, please feel free to pass on our information.
July 17, 2012. San Jose, California. I don't know how to upload a photograph to my Pinterest account without first posting it to an online blog...so I guess that means you get to see photos of the sample Crafts my team and I are making for Relief Society Craft Day 2012. This is a Patriotic Wreath...pretty cool, I think.
July 16, 2012. San Francisco, California. We spent Saturday roaming through Golden Gate Park and stopped in at the de Young Museum. (both Hazel's and Tracee's first time in a fine art museum) The painting that captivated me was "The Glory of the Heavens" 1891, by William Keith.
July 14, 2012. San Francisco, California. Tracee, Dave, Hazel and I drove up to San Francisco Saturday and spent the day in Golden Gate Park. I LOVE that park; I used to live just a few blocks away. It's one of my most favorite places in all the world to go jogging. This Saturday we visited the Conservatory of Flowers.
July 13, 2012. San Jose, California. I have been working on the re-design of Lela's Master Bedroom. I got slightly stumped when she requested a new color palette half-way through, but now I'm inspired again...more like intoxicated by this new idea. Imagine the above down the hall from this. It's going to be fabulous...
July 7, 2012. Half Moon Bay, California. Raising a baby has given us the opportunity to discover the world again through her eyes; what a gift! Saturday we drove to Half Moon Bay to check out the tide pools at Moss Beach. The coast is SO beautiful! To the delight of the neighboring kids on the beach Dave and Tracee built a sandcastle that was doomed for destruction.
