Snapshot #639: Elba Park Family Reunion

August 10-12, 2012.  Elba, Idaho.  My father hosted a King Family Reunion this year at Elba Park in the beautiful Elba Valley of Idaho.  He chose this valley to reminisce and celebrate the King Family heritage because his grandfather had a homestead just down the road where his mother spent many of her growing-up years.  Elba is an incredibly peaceful valley with panoramic views in every direction.  It was an incredible gift to experience a place virtually unchanged by the last 100 years.

August 9, 2012.  Sandy, Utah.  We had dinner with the best of friends Wednesday evening.  Having babies similar in age is so much fun.  Now we've just got to talk them into moving to California so we can be close again.  (hey it worked when we moved from NJ to UT!)

August 8, 2012.  Salt Lake City, Utah.  Grandma Shirley generously introduced us to one of her favorite restaurants in Salt Lake.  Yum.  Thanks again Shirley!

August 7, 2012.  Salt Lake City, Utah.  We spent one morning exploring Wheeler Farm with Noni.  Though hesitant at first, Hazel is pretty brave when it comes to animals.

August 6, 2012.  Riverton, Utah.  Dave's cousin raises chickens in her backyard.  Maybe one day when we get brave enough we'll raise chickens too.

August 6, 2012.  South Jordan, Utah.  Hazel wasn't real sure what to think of having a burning candle in her breakfast oatmeal on her birthday.  She did like the presents though.  Thank you for such a wonderful time!  We hope to see you all again soon.  We love you and miss you.

Snapshot #633: Mirror Lake

August 5, 2012.  Uinta Mountains, Utah.  Sunday after church we drove nearly two hours from Salt Lake with Dave's family to spend some time at Mirror Lake and Provo Falls.  It was like heaven on earth up there.  Hard to believe I'd never been there before.
