April 17, 2015. Vancouver, Washington. Came to the doctor's office today for lactation consultation. While here, Hazel's fever spiked again so I got her in to see a doctor too. I was an emotional wreck, sitting in the waiting room with Hazel crying in my lap, tears running down my own cheeks whilst I listen to my screaming newborn down the hall who needs to be fed, scared I'm going to pass Hazel's fever to her. Finally the doctor came and diagnosed Hazel with Strep Throat & Scarlet Fever. I was crushed. But SO grateful for modern medicine. After 24 hours of antibiotics she should no longer be contagious.
